Our vision at All PSYCHedelic Health is to raise awareness of psychedelic medicine's life-changing nature and alleviate the stigma attached to mental health.
Drugs like ketamine can rapidly trigger neuroplasticity, the recreation and strengthening of connections between neurons, and the way the brain rewires itself. And they suppress the brain’s default mode network (DMN), areas thought to be associated with introspection and mind-wandering.
Ketamine is not a new drug. Developed in the 1960s, as an anesthetic. It wasn’t until several decades later that scientists wondered if the drug might also be an effective antidepressant. Ketamine works differently than antidepressants, through a neurotransmitter called glutamate.
